For Science week Reception looked at our bodies and focused on our senses. We learnt about what each sense does, we know our eyes are for seeing, our ears are for listening, our noses are for smelling, our tongues are for tasting and our skin gives us the sense of touch.
We smelt different teabags and made gingerbread men out of different spices to see which ones we liked and disliked. We looked at shadows and reflections, finding out how we could change them and what we need to create shadows. We tasted salty, sweet, sour and bitter foods and completed a chart of smiley faces to show whether they liked it or not. We listened to different sounds on the CD player and tried to work out what we were listening for, we found the dripping tap and the fridge challenging to identify.
