Football against Pixies Hill

On Tuesday 26th January, our school played Pixies Hill in the football league.  We were at home.  Pixies Hill kicked off and got a quick break, going 1-0 through a penalty.  Liam, our main striker, had 5 good chances to score but the excellent Pixies goalkeeper managed to save them all.  Pixies then had several opportunities to score, but our defenders cleared any danger and our keeper, Joseph, saved some shots.  With seconds to go until half time, Pixies scored again to go into half time 2-0 up.

During the second half, both teams had a number of chances, Kyle had an excellent shot blocked, which resulted in a Pixies Hill counter attack; 3-0.  Micklem were then awarded a corner from which Pixies broke and, unfortunately, we conceded an own goal.  Even though we were tired, we carried on until the end, with the match finishing 4-0.  We were pleased with the huge effort that everyone put in and the resilience we showed.

Well done.
