Learning, achieving, working together

Year 3

"THE BEST SCHOOL TRIP EVER!" (quote from the Year 3 children). Knebworth House trip on 24th June 2015

Year 3 enjoyed having St John's Ambulance in and having them teach them resuscitation. (9th June 2015)

On 1st June Year 3 loved looking at the different parts of a plant in Science!

On 22nd May Year 3 had a sponsored bike ride to raise money for Dens!

Year 3 loved acting like Stone Age people and crushing rocks (it was powder paint) and using twigs and leaves to create paintings. We found out that cave people didn't have signatures. They just painted their hands. We then put the paintings inside our new Year 3 cave!

They really enjoyed showing the parents and Year 2 their finished homework menu products!

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed creating their final app and playing on their friend's app.

Year 3 and 4 presented to their parents their maths and rugby learning, that they had done with Saracens.

Some members of Year 3 in the choir!

We loved having Hannah's mummy in school to talk to us in Charity week!

We really enjoyed grown ups coming in to problem solve with us!

We read nonsense poems using different voices!

The children enjoyed finding out that their Spring topic was Egypt. They got straight into designing and building pyramids and researching what might be inside!

On Friday 5th December some Year 5 children worked collaboratively with the Year 3s. For the morning they become mini apprentices and had to produce their own chocolate bar. They did this through market research (data collecting), branding (DT), writing a 100 word advert, recording the advert (Computing), costing the chocolates so that they made a profit, research how much chocolate bars cost elsewhere and finally making and testing them!

Here are some pictures from when we went to Pizza Express. We learned about healthy eating and more facts about Italy for our Roman topic.

We created Roman helmets to protect our heads if we ever battle with the Saxons again!

Year 3 and 4's Roman and Saxon battle!

Look at our Roman display! You can also see it in the entrance to the hall.
