    Deaf and Hearing Support Service

    The Deaf and Hearing Support Service (DHSS) are a team of qualified specialists and teachers of the deaf, who support children and young people aged 0-25 with hearing problems. They work with families that have a newly diagnosed child or young person, and with schools, to support those who are deaf/ hard of hearing.

    They offer advice and support to professionals and parents about:

    • the development of listening, language and communication
    • learning
    • social-emotional development
    • transition between schools
    • the use of hearing technology and specialist equipment

    Their Teachers of the Deaf provide staff at schools with practical ways to help their deaf/ hard of hearing pupils to learn and progress. For further information please click on the link below.
