Leisure in the UK
This term's project is leisure in the UK. Leisure is what people do with their free (non-work and non-learning) time. We're going to start by looking at the geography of the UK (United Kingdom) so we can explore what different leisure things you can do in the UK.
Lesson one - Try the powerpoint and see if you can look at grid references to explore the pirate map and the seaside town of Swanage.
Lesson two - grid references in the UK and locally.
For lesson two, work first on the UK map to remind yourself of grid references.
Then explore the map of Hemel Hempstead and it's surroundings. You could compare it with maps on google maps or in an atlas. Can you find locations you know (Micklem school, your house or houses of your friends and families, the Marlowes). You could label them on the map. You could even add your own grid references.
