Learning, achieving, working together

Week 12 (29th June)

Good morning and welcome to Sports week!

VIRTUAL SPORTS WEEK this week will be our school’s Sports Week. Even though you are still learning from home, we have exciting plans to run a slightly different looking sports week including a virtual sports day for all the children who are at home. We know that school life might be a little bit different at the moment, but you can still compete in our ‘Virtual sports week’. Daily Challenges By 8am each morning, there will be a daily challenge added to the Sports Week page of our school website (https://www.micklem.herts.sch.uk/sports-week/). We would like your child to try to complete the challenge at some point during the day and then post their entry onto the school’s Twitter account @MicklemSchool, by 2pm. The different tasks will then be judged by our Year 6 Sports Captains and points will be awarded.

Every day you need to check in on the Sports Week section in school closure to see what your daily challenge is - have fun joining in with all your friends at school! Also, Mr Swift would like you to try this challenge to win a Blue Peter  Badge!  Click here to find out more:

So this week, all our learning will have a sports theme. There will be lots of sports problem solving in Maths and you will need to use your amazing reading skills to help you follow the instructions. We will also be learning all about the Olympics...what do you know already?

We will also be continuing our work on the Dream Giver in English that we started last week and Maths will be completing tasks linked to sports.

Please don't forget to keep sending me your work and keep in touch
