Learning, achieving, working together

Friday 8.01.21

7th January 2021

Good morning Year One,

Welcome to Friday's learning.  I hope to see you at registration at 10.15.  If not, then this is our work for today.  Remember if you have any questions, you can either ask me at registration or email me on  I am available within school hours 9.00am to 3.15pm.

English: Read through or tell the story of Jack and the Beanstalk using your puppets and/or story maps.  Did you remember the time adverbs this time?  Today, I would like you to pick one of the characters from the story and describe them.  You could choose Jack or the Giant - tell me about their appearance and their character.  Write some sentences and remember to give me 5.

Maths: 'Everywhere Maths' today out in the garden/park and 'Find it Friday': see how many different patterns you can make using objects in your house or in the garden/park.

Phonics: follow the worksheets.

Monday 11th January 2021

On Monday, we will have our registration through Zoom at 10.15 am.  The learning for Year One will then be on Seesaw.  Please bear with me while I get to grips with new technology!  If I don't know the answers to any of your questions, then I will find out for you.

Each day, I am hoping to set a morning task, some handwriting practice, a phonics video (either live or recorded), English and Maths.  For this half term, there will be some Science and Geography one or twice a week too.  I will do my best to explain the learning to you on video or with voice recordings.

Have a lovely weekend.

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs Stokley smiley
