16th June 2020
Dear Year One,
How are you today? I hope you are well and ready for today's learning.
Firstly, how did you get on with your book review yesterday? You are welcome to share your work with me either by email: year1@micklem.herts.sch.uk or on the Year 1 Blog.
Today we are going to think about the animals. Listen to the story again either with me reading it (Video Centre) or following the link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyIV_xYi0as
Can you perform the story with all the animal noises and sound effects? Show a grown up.
When we are surprised and shocked we raise our voice - can you be Handa or Ayeko.
Can you show surprise in your voice? Can you retell the story and make different movements for each animal- e.g swinging through the trees like a monkey and stomping like an elephant!
What sort of instrument would suit an elephant stomping? Go into the kitchen and see if you can find a saucepan to make the noise of an elephant. What about the giraffe? What sort of noise would he make or would he be quietly munching leaves. Can you act that out? Look around your house and see if you can find things that can make a noise for each animal. Have fun!!
Tuesday's Maths is uploaded below along with the work. Please do not print it out. Copy down the matching sets in your book.
Take care,
Mrs Stokley
