Learning, achieving, working together

Monday 15/6/20

15th June 2020

Dear Year One,

Welcome to a new week! I hope you are well and ready to learn either at home or in school.

We are going to start a new book called Handa's Surprise.  The book is set in Africa and you will spot some similar (that means the same) clothes, weather and people as you saw in the film Zahra.  I have loaded some African photos for you to have a look at and also a wordbank to help you will the words in the story.  Neither of them need to be printed off unless you want to.

Please listen to the story here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyIV_xYi0as.  I will also read it and put up a video (Children, Video Centre, Year 1 Closure Work).

Today I would like you to write a book review.  What did you like and dislike about the story?  Did you spot any puzzles in the story?  Was there some to work out? or something wrong?  Were there any patterns in the story? Patterns in the action?  In the words? Anything repeated?  Let me know.  It is not necessary to print out the sheet -just take the headings from it.

Maths is loaded up below.  We are carrying on with learning about multiplication and division.

I hope you enjoying the learning for this week.

Take care,

Mrs Stokley smiley
