Micklem at 60
Marking 60 years of Micklem Primary School
Saturday 6th July 2019
We are 60 years old this year and on Saturday we marked this occasion. We brought together an amazing range of people, former pupils, staff and parents all who, overtime, have contributed to the school we are today. We had a lovely afternoon, full of reminiscences, enhanced by our collection of photos and written records. It was moving to see old friends, colleagues, teachers and pupils re-uniting, renewing acquaintances and sharing memories.
A special cake had been made to celebrate the occasion and this was cut by Mrs Greenland and Mrs Rogers, two original members of staff who came from the temporary site on Pixies Hill and Miss Waterhouse Micklem's youngest teacher.
The beginning and definitely not the end!
