Good morning year 4 and welcome to Virtual Sports week!
This week would be our school’s Sports Week and we thought, why not still do it! Even though you are learning from home, we have exciting plans to run a slightly different looking sports week including a virtual sports day if you are at home. We know that school life might be a little bit different at the moment, but you can still compete. There will be a daily challenge by 8am added to the Sports Week page of our school website (https://www.micklem.herts.sch.uk/sports-week/). It would be great if you could try to complete the challenge at some point during the day and then email your entry to year6@micklem.herts.sch.uk by 2pm. The different tasks will then be judged by our Year 6 Sports Captains and points will be awarded.
Every day you need to check in on the Sports Week section in school closure to see what your daily challenge is - have fun joining in with all your friends at school! Also, we would like you to try this challenge to win a Blue Peter Badge! Click here to find out more:

So this week, all our learning will have a sports theme.
Maths
Have a look at the presentation, did you realise there was so much maths in sport! Have a go at one of the worksheets.
English
In English this week, we are going to write a persuasive text about the best sporting hero or the best sport. For today, I want to remind you about persuasive language. Have a go at finding the features of persuasive writing on the worksheet and start thinking about which sporting hero or sport you would like to write about.
Other activities
Remember to check out your daily challenge https://www.micklem.herts.sch.uk/sports-week-at-home/
Stay safe and have fun.
