Welcome to Year 4!
Your Year 4 adults are:

We hope you have had a good break! We are ready for the autumn term and will do everything that we can to support you in your learning and make sure that we have fun along the way!
PE
Year 4 will have PE on Wednesday and Thursday.
On these days they must wear their PE kit into school. We will be aiming to have PE outside as much as possible so please check the weather and make sure children have joggers and jumpers when necessary.
Reading Books
Reading books and reading records will be sent home daily. Please encourage your child to read everyday. School books will be changed on a Friday only so that they can be left untouched for the weekend before being given to the next child. If your child has finished their school reading book before this date they can bring a book from home.
Homework
Homework will be handed out on a Friday and needs to be returned by Wednesday of the following week. Please try and encourage your child with their homework as it reinforces their learning.
Maths
Please encourage your child to practise their times tables every day. They can use Timestables Rockstars, write them out on a piece of paper or say them out loud.
Topic
Autumn Term - History focus
This term the children will be learning about the Stone, Bronze and Iron Age. We will be looking at how they lived in those times and debating which settlement was the best and why. We will also explore the tools and farming methods that were used and compare them to the present day.
