Learning, achieving, working together

Thursday 30th April

Good morning Year 6!

I hope that you have been enjoying the work that I have set for you and are finding it challenging but fair.  It has been great to see so many of you interacting with the blog over the last couple of days!

Today I am going to give you two challenges for maths.  Challenge 2 will be tricky for some of you as it continues looking at scaling but using diagrams.  If two shapes are described as similar it means that they would have a similar ratio eg. 1:4 is similar to 2:8 as it has been scaled up.  A scale factor describes how many times bigger something is eg. 10cm scaled up by a factor of 2 gives you 20cm.

See how far you can get with these questions and don't forget to email me if you need help.

I'm really loving your creativity with your creatures coming through!  I can't wait to see how these ideas continue to develop.

Today I would like you to look at the picture below of a beast from the book.  I would like you to write a description of it based on the picture that I have given you.

Challenge 1 - describe it as a scary, evil creature (this should be easier based on how it looks in the picture).

Challenge 2 - describe it as a lovely, friendly creature that is misunderstood because of the way it looks.
